How are you doing your mile on May 18th?

Thursday, 10th May 2018

The people of Pendle are being asked to walk, run, hop, skip, jump or swim a mile on May 18th – or throughout the week leading up to it.

The aim is to get at least 24,901 people throughout Lancashire to take part in the Your Mile Your Way challenge and complete the amount of miles it would take to walk around the world!

Your Mile Your Way is being coordinated by Lancashire County Council as part of its Active Lives and Healthy Weight programme and leisure providers who deliver the programme in each area – including Pendle Leisure Trust’s Up and Active team – have organised individual fun activities.

But if you don’t want to join in an organised event, you can do your own thing – either as an individual or collectively as a group - just as long as you remember to pledge your mile via the Your Mile Your Way website - www.yourmileyourway.co.uk

Why not do it as part of your gym workout or swimming session at one of Pendle Leisure Trust’s centres any time during the Health Week – Monday, May 14th to Sunday, May 20th?

Pendle Leisure Trust’s Health and Fitness Manager, Luke Allwood, added: “Our members and any members of the public can use our leisure centres to complete their mile, whether it’s in the gym or going for a swim. We also have plenty of classes where a mile can be completed, including Spinning and Circuits.”

However you do it - remember to pledge it!
