Pendle Leisure Trust has joined forces with The Rotary Club of Burnley Pendleside to enable a group of local youngsters enjoy a theatre treat.

The Rotary Club is paying for a group of children to attend the Trust’s annual pantomime at The Muni Theatre, Colne, in January.

A first for the theatre, George Critchley, for PMA Productions, brings Dick Whittington to the Muni Theatre stage from January 5th to 20th next year.

With an all-star cast, including STAR WARS’ Goss Toowers – Keith De’Winter – as Sally The Cook; former EastEnders favourite Mark Homer playing King Rat; Comedian Lee ‘Goodie’ Goode playing the part of Captain Birdseye; talented newcomer Timothy Roberts in the title role of Dick Whittington; Kelly Aaron as his wife Alice and everyone’s favourite – George Critchley - back in his comedy role for his 23rd year at the Muni Theatre, this time as Idle Jack.

Rotarian, Paul Roberts, said: “Throughout the year, the Rotary Club raises thousands of pounds to benefit numerous local, national and international causes and we are delighted to be able to help our local community on this occasion by enabling a group of children, who would not normally be able to do so, experience visiting a theatre and watching a live, professional performance.

“We are pleased to be working with Pendle Leisure Trust and hope it is the first of many ventures we can work on together to help the local community.”
