The Good Life Project - This month's challenge!

Wednesday, 16th March 2016

The weather recently means that it's usually a grim time of digging, planning planting and hiding in the hut for frequent brews. Not here though! (but we do have a few brews…)

For the last few months, we have been redesigning Mr Ali’s poly tunnel. As many of our Good Lifer's know, we have previously experimented with hotbed gardening. This involves creating deep-raised beds and filling them with mixed organic materials such as manure, rotting logs and compost.

This creates heat which extends our growing season, tricking the plants into thinking they are in a lovely warm country and keeping us in tomatoes and other lovelies until almost Christmas! This has been hugely successful on the small scale so we have taken it large… Using 99% reclaimed materials, we will have this project finished in time for our first open day of 2016 in March so please come along and see for yourselves.

If you or someone you know would like to get involved at  The Good Life Project, then please get in touch or pay us a visit.
