Easier Than Ever To Feel The Blues!

Friday, 22nd July 2016

The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival is almost upon us and we're calling on all locals to get involved.

The multi-award winning Festival, now in its 27th year, draws in music-lovers from all over the world and we want local residents to come and get a taste of the authentic Colne Blues!

Each August Bank Holiday weekend the town comes alive with the sound of music, but it's at the official venues where the true Blues is on offer. With ticket prices cheaper than ever, (starting at just £1 for an Official Roadhouse wristband and just £20 for a day ticket), we want locals to sample what The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival is really all about.

Festival spokesperson, Sue Madigan, said: “The drop in ticket prices will mean better value for money and more affordable for locals to enjoy this four day musical extravaganza!

"This year will prove to be no different with no shortage in talent ready to perform."

Our Festival organisers have been working hard throughout the year to ensure that "The Beat Goes On" and now we can safely say, the beat sounds as good as ever! Exciting changes have been made to the format of the Festival, but the one thing that will remain the same is the standard of the artistes performing. Legends of the Blues world will flock to Colne from August 26th and with them, thousands of hardened fans from the world over.

Festival headliners Wilko Johnson, Nikki Hill and Bernie Marsden perform to tens of thousands at their own individual concerts, but locals will be fortunate enough to see all of them, and hundreds more, right on their doorstep for a fraction of the price.
