Men's Den Christmas Party 2020

Monday, 21st December 2020

Pendle Leisure Trust staff joined forces with Morrisons to help spread some festive cheer, by holding a Christmas Party for the Men’s Den mental health peer support group.

The group, which operates from the Open Door Centre in Colne, on Wednesday nights, offers support, guidance and counselling for men with mental health, addiction or any other issue causing anxiety and stress.

Adrian Lamb, Together an Active Pendle Programme Officer, said: “This year has been a tough year for so many people - especially some of these gentlemen who attend.

So with help from Pendle Leisure Trust, Together an Active Pendle and Morrison’s Community Champions Leona Taylor and Matthew Duthoit, we organised a Christmas Party with all the trimmings.”

One of the attendees – Simon – said: “It was a fab night, with good Christmas spirit which was made extra special with a visit and presents from Santa. There was party food and drinks, crackers, jokes and Christmas music – I felt like a kid again!

It was a good feeling to be part of this meaningful and special group. It was a brilliant night and the leftover food went to a good cause - to Curry on the Street. Thank you Gav, Ady, Al and the rest of the gang.”

To help with extra fundraising for the group, Ady is running the Rat Race 2021 – a 20 mile dirty weekend run on May 8th, with the Men’s Den receiving every penny raised.
