New Community Support Hub for Pendle's residents

Wednesday, 25th March 2020

A new community hub has been launched to co-ordinate support for Pendle’s most vulnerable residents during the coronavirus outbreak.

Pendle Community Support Hub has been created for residents without a circle of friends or family to help them.

Councillor Mohammed Iqbal, Leader of Pendle Council, said: “We’re working with a range of organisations, including voluntary groups, to help vulnerable people get through the difficult crisis we are facing. Pendle Community Support Hub will work as a one stop shop.”

The services being offered include:

If you, or a vulnerable person you know, need help:

The phone lines will be open 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and 10am to 3pm, Saturday and Sunday.

“We expect calls to the new community support hub to be high, so please be patient. We’ll work hard to get the right help and support to people who need it,” stated Councillor Iqbal.

Organisations, businesses, groups and individuals who can provide help and services will be identified to support those who need practical and emotional support.

If you, or your community group or business, would like to join our efforts for the new Pendle Community Support Hub:

email helpoffered@pendle.gov.uk or fill in our offer of help form via www.pendle.gov.uk/communitysupporthub

If we can match your offer of support we’ll be in touch.

Councillor Iqbal added: “Together we are stronger and we have long-standing partnerships here in Pendle as a firm foundation. By co-ordinating our efforts we can help everyone face this challenge, knowing that despite these measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus, we are not alone.”
