Following a fire at Pendle Wavelengths on Wednesday, the facility will remain closed until further notice, but alternative measures have been put in to place to make sure disruption is kept to a minimum.
Pendle Leisure Trust has other centres which can be used to accommodate customers and provide them with swimming, gym and exercise class options.
Pendle Leisure Trust Chief Executive, Phil Storey, said: “We'd like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this time. Whilst we appreciate that this temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, we can assure all of our customers that we are working hard to ensure that normal service is resumed as soon as possible.
“We are fortunate that we have other centres we can use to offer gym, swimming and classes, which other leisure providers would not be able to offer.
“The response from our users has been fantastic, with comments about how well our staff handled the situation on the day and through social media have even offered to come and help clean up, which just shows how much they value our facilities and staff.
“Obviously, we are sorry for the inconvenience, but we are asking people to please bear with us, we are doing everything we can to ensure alternative arrangements are in place and all updates will be passed on as soon as they become available through our official social media channels and website.”
For the time being, all private swimming lessons are being held at Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne and all exercise classes have been relocated to The ACE Centre in Nelson.
Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne and West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick are open as normal and offer an alternative to Pendle Wavelengths customers, along with Seedhill Athletics and Fitness Centre in Nelson.
Alternative venues are also currently being looked at to carry out body and beauty treatments while Inside Spa is out of action.
A manned Reception for Pendle Wavelengths has been set up at The ACE Centre in Nelson, which is fully-functional to receive bookings and payments.
