Summer Tai Chi in the Park returns

Wednesday, 29th July 2020

Summer Tai Chi in the Park returns this weekend.

Helena and David from Lighthouse Tai Chi are delighted to announce this sixth, annual Tai Chi in Pendle Parks can go ahead, especially as the duo are also celebrating 10 years of teaching Tai Chi across East Lancashire.

Helena said: “Now is the time to get outdoors and get fitter to boost our health for the winter. This year’s events are on Sundays, so families and working people can also access the benefits of gentle outdoor exercise with us.

“Pendle Borough Council and Pendle Leisure Trust have given us excellent guidance and professional support to enable this well-loved summer event to be possible again this year. We thank our sponsors and students for standing by us through the storm.”

The events are on the four Sundays in August from 1.30pm to 2.30pm - 2nd and 16th at Marsden Park in Nelson and 9th and 23rd at Victoria Park, Nelson.

There are only 30 places available for each event, so they must be pre-booked through Pendle Leisure Centre on 01282 661166. The cost is £1 per person, with all proceeds going to the Mayor of Pendle’s Charities. There is free parking at both sites and all ages and abilities are welcome.

Helena and David have re-started most of their weekly classes this week, with the rest being phased in by September. For more information about the park events, classes and workshops and to contact the instructors, visit www.lighthousetaichi.com or call 0787 637 7321.
