Our female-only sessions aim to inspire you to be happier, healthier and more active.

We provide fun, fitness and well-being activities through a wide range of programmes and dedicated sessions aimed at helping women become more active.

Female-only gym

Most of these sessions take place at selected times in the small gym at Pendle Wavelengths, Nelson.

You will be given an induction by an instructor who will show you how to use the equipment safely, as well as a personal fitness programme.

On Sunday evenings, between 6pm and 8pm, Pendle Wavelengths becomes a female-only centre so you can comfortably use the main gym with no males present.

During the school holidays, the times of the female-only sessions may change during the day. Check with Reception.

You will be given an induction by an instructor who will show you how to use the equipment safely, as well as a personal fitness programme.

Please note that we cannot guarantee a female instructor for inductions and supervision of the gym.

Female-only swimming

All three of Pendle Leisure Trust’s centres offer female-only swimming with female lifeguards.

Why swim?

Female-only Aquarhythmics

This is a very effective class in the pool which uses water as resistance. It eliminates strain and impact while giving you the necessary benefits of improving stamina, strength and suppleness.

You will be taking part with people with similar abilities as yourself. The sessions are enjoyable and held in a pleasant environment with no male staff or members of the public present.

Female-only Spa

If you need time out to relax, enjoy a two hour Spa Wellness Experience at Inside Spa – at a time when it is just female-only!
