Pendle Leisure Trust encourages everyone to take part in its activities and take benefit by improving their health. Swimming is a great way to achieve this; we have plenty of sessions/activities to suit for all ages and abilities.
From classes for our youngest baby swimmers to fun swimming for the whole family, it’s easy to join a group session or come along for a leisure swim.
Our Family Swim session is a great opportunity for you to take your children swimming in a warm, supportive environment. Open to everyone.
Swimming is not just a great way to exercise and get fit, it’s also a fantastic social activity. Whether you prefer to rack up the lengths on your own or want to join a class of like-minded swimmers, our pools offer something for everyone. We even offer aqua-based activities for non-swimmers, who can build their confidence before perhaps taking a course of lessons.
The best way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to build fitness into your normal routine. The earlier you start to make it a habit and a thing that’s natural to do, the better. We believe in starting on the road to well-being early. It’s the inspiration behind offering junior swim sessions, which provides safe, supervised opportunities for young people to enjoy, get fit and have fun.
Swimming is not weight-bearing so it can be an enormously beneficial form of exercise for older adults, putting less stress on joints and muscles. As well as helping to improve guests’health, our swimming sessions are great to get fit, enjoy and have fun with the grandchildren.

And it is by far the favourite sport of many disabled adults. Paralympic medallist and world champion swimmer Matthew Whorwood explains why:
“Swimming is great because it’s non-impact and a good way to get fit without risking injury. Also, once you’re in the pool you’re the same as everyone else, any physical disabilities are irrelevant.”

Our pools open at 7am on specific days so this is a great opportunity for adults only to complete a rewarding and beneficial exercise session before breakfast.
Our pools are open into the evening until late for adults, a great opportunity to wind down after work or to meet your daily exercise target. Specific evenings are kept for the exclusive use of ladies or adult only sessions.
