Pendle - Smart Test

Two rapid COVID-19 testing sites have opened in Pendle to help protect essential and other workers who cannot work from home

This facility is aimed at frontline staff and key workers, in a bid to keep them as safe as possible – and prevent them from spreading the virus

Pendle Council and the NHS are giving employees currently working at their workplace an opportunity to have a free COVID-19 test

Pendle Leisure Trust is opening up two of its leisure facilities - Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne and West Craven Sports Centre in Barnoldswick – as SMART Test Centres

They will be open Monday – Friday 5pm – 8pm

FROM MONDAY - MARCH 1st - Opening Hours will be: MONDAY / WEDNESDAY / FRIDAY - 12pm - 8pm - CLOSED Tuesday & Thursday

The tests are for people without symptoms and should be repeated every 3-5 days

All Pendle Leisure Trust staff operating the testing centres have been fully trained

* Do not book a test if you have any COVID symptoms

* You will be required to show ID of your place of work

* You will be conducting your own test

* Please arrive on time for your allocated time slot

* Should you need to cancel/reschedule your appointment, this can be done from the Booking Confirmation E-Mail – no later than 1 hour    prior to attending

What is SMART testing?

SMART stands for Systematic Meaningful Asymptomatic Repeated Targeted testing. The SMART testing programme uses lateral flow devices for testing. Lateral flow tests do not need to be sent to a laboratory for analysis so results are available quicker - in approximately 30 minutes

Why should I get tested?

One in three people with Coronavirus do not have any symptoms and so can pass on the virus without knowing it. This type of testing is an important tool in fighting the virus
