Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section is here to help answer any burning questions you may have about your membership and what it involves, including payment options, member benefits and how to book a class.

What is included in my membership?

Do I need to bring my membership card for each visit?

Yes. Show it at Reception as it helps to speed up your entry on arrival. If you lose your card there is a fee to buy a new one.

Is there a discount for paying upfront for the year?

Yes. You get 2 months discounted at the direct debit monthly rate and no admin fee.

Do I get a discount for being a member for a year?

Yes. You can claim 12 months for the price of 9 when you renew your membership on an annual contract.

Am I tied into a contract?

No. As long as you give us 30 days notice you may cancel. If you re-join, you will have to pay the admin fee again.

What happens if I miss a monthly payment?

If for any reason your direct debit payment is declined by your bank, then you will be unable to use the facilities, as it will be suspended for use until any outstanding amounts have been paid. You can pay these in person at any of the centres using cash or a valid debit/credit card or over the phone.

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes. You can freeze your membership for a minimum of a month and a maximum of three months (unless for a medical reason), which is requested in writing giving 14 days notice. There is no extra cost to do this.

How do I cancel my membership?

To cancel your membership you need to give 30 days’ notice. This can be done in writing or online here.

I have a friend interested in joining the membership. Could I get a pass for them to try it out?

Yes. You get three 7 day passes for family or friends to give us a try (only if the guest has never used the Trust’s facilities before). To claim your free pass online, click here.

My friend wants to join the membership. Do I get anything for referring them?

Yes! If you refer a friend and they sign up to a membership, you can choose a reward.

What do I wear?

Trainers and sportswear - make sure you feel comfortable. Bring a bottle of water. However, if you do forget, bottles are available to buy at the centres.

What happens at my induction?

You will have three appointments – each lasting approximately 30 minutes. During your first appointment, you will be shown the cardiovascular machines, then weights and finally, a programme designed specifically for you.

Do I need to book onto classes?

Yes. You can book on to classes up to one week before the class. Make sure you do book on otherwise you may not be guaranteed a place when you turn up. If you do book on a class and you can’t make it, please ring up to cancel so somebody who is waiting can join in.

Can I use other centres which are not part of Pendle Leisure Trust?

Yes. As part of the Active Network scheme, you have access to 17 leisure centres throughout the North West, visit their website to learn more. Please make sure you use Pendle Leisure Trust’s facilities more than partner centres.
